National Poetry Month: Write 30 -IN- 30

post_dove525This is the best time of year! Spring is in full effect and writing about it is a testament to seasons change quite often. National Poetry Month has been a staple in the literary world for years and there is nothing like penning a Haiku at 3:00 am in the morning.

Interested in being brave and writing 30 poems in thirty days, if so you should join NaPoWriMo, an annual project in which participating poets attempt to write a poem a day for the month of April.

NaPoWriMo was started in 2003 by Maureen Thorson; she created the challenge after participating in National Novel Writing Month. There are a lot of poets that are participating this year. There is no charge or theme to enter the competition. Best of all are the perks you get to post your blog, website, or wiki page link on the NaPoWriMo web site and you get to network with other like-minded people.

Take a step back, read as much as you can by your favorite poet this month, share their work with others. If you are budding poet and want to get your work out and reviewed join this awesome opportunity. There is nothing like seeing your words on the page.
