There is no way to express how I feel right now. I’m still somewhat in a bliss about the news that I received yesterday. I passed the end of program examination, given by the University of North Texas’ College of Information, School of Library Science and Information Technology. EOP candidates had the option to choose three topics out of ten to write about, and they had to be in a certain format/citation style. We had six days to gather research and write. There was no time for ish like: “I have writer’s block!”
I can’t even tell you now what I wrote about. I trashed all of my essays after I wrote them. I did not want to drive myself crazy while going through the waiting process for the results. The essays were given to a committee to read and write pass or fail on each one of them. If you fail one essay you are not allowed to graduate (they do give graduate students a second try, and after that you have to figure out something else to do with your life). It was seven days of pure hell and then some.
I know one thing for sure, I know my ish when it comes to librarianship and I know how to write my way out of anything. The experience, I will never forget it and the journey as a graduate student in librarianship has been one for the history books. My alter-ego (atlas brown) will tell the entire story one day through fiction.
For now, I just want to chill out and read books that I like to read and get back to loving fashion, art events, fine wines, traveling, and enjoying nature.
Through all of this, I want to thank GOD for making me laugh. I had no idea that this was in the plan. Had I known, I probably would have went left instead of right. The beginning of the rest of my life in librarianship will officially begin on May 9, 2014 in Denton, Texas at 3 PM.
