Academia, Confessions of a Writer, Librarianship

Finally, Goodbye Texas!

I will be making a stretch to the Midwest next week. I’ve accepted a job as an Academic Librarian/Assistant Professor at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO.

I am very excited, nervous, and ready. It has been a long time coming as it pertains to being born in the state of Texas, and having had the opportunity to live in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Houston. I will never forget the connections that I made, opportunities that helped me get to where I am today, and all of the love that was/is showering over me.

This is by far the best news that I’ve had to share since I’ve graduated. I will be writing about this experience in the coming months and will be sharing my story with the world. Get ready for more of my rants about pop-culture, literature, politics, and so forth.  I just upped my game! #blacklibrariansrock
