blackwomen

Artwork By Aaron Griffin | Source for Black Ladies

…i am a black woman
…my hue is actually brown
…i am 5 ft tall
…i am feisty
…i am curvaceous
…my strength comes from the heavens
…my strength comes from my ancestors
…i speak the truth
…i love hard_harder_hardest
…i have made/make mistakes
…i have a vision for my life
…i know my worth – i am worthy
…i am a black woman
…my hue is actually brown

...motivation to begin writing my 1st scholarly book about five African American WOMEN librarians/cultural revolutionaries from Texas! I am in awe of this journey and nervous as hell!!! #bossy😉💯 #borntowriteforlife #iwriteaboutblackfolk #ubettathink2018 #allmyfriendsreadbooks #21stcenturyabolitionist
...a sigh of relief! I just completed/turned in my 3rd biographical sketch this year to be published about the life of Marion Vera Cuthbert (1896-1989) in the Encyclopedia of the Harlem Reniassance. I had the pleasure of also writing about Dr. Fannie Hagen Emanuel (1871-1934) and Josephine Beall Willson Bruce (1853-1923). I learned so much about their lives as writers, scholars, and activists! Honored tonight, indeed!!! #ubettathink2018 #allmyfriendsreadbooks #21stcenturyabolitionist #iwriteaboutblackpeopleandblacklife
...i will be giving out FREE copies of The Negro National Anthem: "Lift Every Voice and Sing" on MLK Day and at the MLK DAY PARADE in Austin, Texas at our vendor's booth... and during the entire month of February at the Austin History Center!
